Kindergarten (Morehouse, Widener): We heard "Stella Louella's Runaway Book" by Lisa Campbell Ernst. We talked about how we can share our favorite part of the book.
Kindergarten (Cook): We heard "Rupert Can Dance" by Jules Feiffer. We worked on sharing our favorite part of the book.
1st Grade (Bonnell, Gordon): We decorated our own shelf markers to use during book selection and check out time this year. We also reviewed safety procedures in the library for fire, earthquake, and lock down.
2nd Grade (Goodsky, Rempel): We heard "Rupert Can Dance" by Jules Feiffer.

3rd Grade (Liker, Pawling): We brainstormed a list of book care tips (we'll use the list next week). We then saw a slide show of "Animals Should Definitely Not Borrow Library Books" which was based on Ron and Judi Barrett's book, "Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing." We talked about the book tips in the presentation.
Professional: Registered for the 2015 Washington Library Media Association Annual Conference. Began reading "Mindsets in the Classroom" by Mary Cay Ricci.
Also, continued working on getting materials ready for circulation. Depending on the book this might involve: cataloging, creating and placing the spine label, laminating the cover, taping the spine, stamping the book with school identification, or placing other labels (award, language, etc).
Library helper application were due on Thursday, so I began to read the application and create a library helper schedule.
Attended the building staff development afternoon on Friday. The staff was working on writing, student growth goals, and looking at SBAC assessment data for Sherwood.
