Summer Reading

For 2015
Here are some summer reading programs you might consider!
Reading resources funded through the school district.
Grades K-3
Raz Kids : Find “just right” books online, read them, and enjoy!  (use your 2014-15 teacher username)
Mackin Via : Dozens of new and classic online books. Use your district username and password to  login.
Grades 4 -8
MyOn  : Over 7,000 books online along with short quizzes that help guide further reading.

Summer reading programs offered through our public library system.
Sno-Isle Summer Reading Program : Read 10 books or 1000 pages and do two activities from the Learn and Discover sites (and tell what you did on their form) to win a free book and a chance to win a bicycle.
Sno-Isle Summer Reading for Teens : Enter reviews for weekly prize drawings. When submitting a book review, be sure to select Sherwood – Dave Sonnen under Teacher
Edmonds Public Library : For hours, schedule of events at our local public library.
OTHER BUSINESSES
Some businesses encourage reading too!
Barnes & Noble : Read 8, get 1 free.
Book Adventure : Read and take quizzes on books.  Earn things on the website.
Chuck E. Cheese : Read every day for two weeks to earn 10 free tokens.
Half Price Books : Log your reading.  300 minutes in a month = $5 gift card.  Once in June and again in July.
Scholastic : Help read for the world record by logging your minutes!
University Bookstore : Join the Summer Reading Rocks program and every book you finish from now until the end of August counts toward a coupon for purchases from Kids Books AND some COOL FREE STUFF.
