This Week in the Library: March 30 - April 3

The week before Spring Vacation is always busy in the library.  Here's what we did:

Little Eaglets (Preschool Story Time): Mrs. Turley, Educational Assistant in the kindergarten room, was our guest speaker. We heard "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" by Laura Numeroff .  Eaglets got color sheets about garbage trucks and the letter "M".  There will be no Little Eaglets next week due to Spring Break. The following week's (4/16) reader will be Ms. Cook!

Primary Classes (K-3, except Goodsky):  This was voting week for the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award.  Students watched a short video summarizing each of the 20 book and then placed their votes!

Goodsky (1st/2nd Grade):  Continued to work on alphabetical order.  We arranged words in groups. Students had to go to the 3rd letter to alphabetize some of the words.  Vocabulary: alphabetical, alphabetize, tie.

4th Grade:  We worked on finding bibliographic information from a non-fiction (classified) book.  We also looked at the various text features in a non-fiction book (table of contents, index, bibliography, timeline, map, photos, glossary, chart, etc.).

5th Grade:  No classes this week due to Outdoor Camp Field Trip.  All books will be due after Spring Break (Alderson 4/13; Wildenhau 4/15).

Bogert (6th Grade): Completed work on reading a bus schedule from last week.

Hansen (6th Grade): No class this week due to a music performance rehearsal. All books will be due after Spring Break on April 13.
