This Week in the Library: October 24-28

It's Conference Week.  Even though we had half days, all classes attended library this week.  Here's what we did during class:

Primary Classes (K-3, except Morehouse): We began reading our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book nominees for 2017.  We learned about this Washington state award and heard "I'm Trying to Love Spiders" by Bethany Barton.  Students listened for facts about spiders and how spiders can be helpful to people.  Vocabulary: millions, billions, venomous, arachnid.

Grade 4: We finished our review of bibliographic information.

Grade 5: We finished our library rule reminder posters.  The posters are hanging up in the library!

Grade 6: We brainstormed key words for Ancient Egypt and began to create resource lists on the library catalog for an upcoming social studies unit.

Professional: Met with my librarian collaborative group.  We are working on goals regarding coding and computer science.  Our building tech leadership team met with Ms. Kessler to review what we learned at last week's training and set a course for the immediate future. Attended the building leadership team meeting.
