This Week in the Library: January 17-20

A 4 day week due to the MLK holiday.  If Monday was your library day, your books are due next week (Jan. 23).  Here's what went on in library classes this week.

Kindergarten (except Widener): We heard "What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night" by Refe and Susan Tuma.  This book was created using plastic dinosaurs and taking photographs.  It is on our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award nominee list. Vocabulary: slobber, Picasso, messy. AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Grade 1 (except Hirst, Bonnell): We heard "What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night" by Refe and Susan Tuma.  This book was created using plastic dinosaurs and taking photographs.  It is on our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award nominee list. Vocabulary: slobber, Picasso, messy. AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Grade 1 (Bonnell): We heard "Job Wanted" By Teresa Bateman.  This story features a dog who doesn't give up when trying to find a job on the farm.  It was on our Children's Choice list.  Vocabulary: plodded, discouraged, barnyard, foofaraw, commotion.

Grade 2: We heard "What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night" by Refe and Susan Tuma.  This book was created using plastic dinosaurs and taking photographs.  It is on our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award nominee list. Vocabulary: slobber, Picasso, messy. AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Grade 3 (Liker & Pawling): We took an online coding pre-assessment to prepare for our upcoming coding unit.

Grade 4-6 (except Chase): We worked on our best book exploration project.  Students were looking at author, genre, and previewing the books.
