Grade 1-3 (except Bonnell, Hirst, Holt, Liker): We read "Job Wanted" by Teresa Bateman.  Dog is looking for a job.  There is no job for a farm dog, so he tries work as a cow, horse, and chicken.  The farmer realizes that a farm dog is just want he needs.  Vocabulary: plodded, commotion, barnyard, discouraged, foofaraw.

Grade 1 (Bonnell): We heard "What the Dinosaurs Did Last Night" by Refe and Susan Tuma.  This book was created using plastic dinosaurs and taking photographs.  It is on our Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award nominee list. Vocabulary: slobber, Picasso, messy. AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Grade 4/5 (except Mindt,Wildenhaus): We worked on our best book exploration project.
